I am becoming quite the fan of Emily Haines’ output. This time it’s dark, minimalistic & hauntingly beautiful. This EP is supposed to complement the album and it does so perfectly. I can’t wait for the new Metric album that’s apparently in the works.

While the wait on their sophomore album is getting longer & longer, here’s Future Perfect, an almost perfect debut. Noisy soundscapes in the background, heavy riffing in the foreground & and fantastic drumming. Think My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive & earlier Smashing Pumpkins.

Being impressed with Emily Haines’ album ‘Knives Don’t Have Your Back’, I became aware of her band; Metric. This band draws talent from the Broken Social Scene pool & it shows. Fast-to-the-point, noisy indierock with Emily’s breathy vocals on top. Sometimes, music doesn’t have to be complicated or completely orginal to be thoroughly enjoyed.
